Overview

Fired Coaches of Georgia is an independent publication in the T25PS Portfolio. This policy explains the information we collect through firedcoaches.org, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

  • Reader accounts: name, email address, authentication information, newsletter preferences, and saved-article activity.
  • Sponsor inquiries: name, email address, company, inquiry type, and message.
  • Communications: information you include when you email us or otherwise contact the publication.

Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not displayed to site administrators.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting, database, and security providers may process IP addresses, device and browser details, request logs, and necessary session identifiers when you use the site. We use necessary cookies or similar storage to keep accounts signed in, protect forms, and remember account preferences.

When you enable notifications in the Fired Coaches iOS app, we process an Apple Push Notification service device token, a random app-installation identifier, the device platform, notification permission status, app version and build, and your notification choices. If you sign in, the installation may be linked to your reader account so account changes and logout can be handled safely. The app also uses a separate installation credential whose one-way hash is stored by our server. We use this information only to register the device, deliver the alerts you choose, prevent duplicate delivery, troubleshoot delivery, and protect the registration service.

We also use first-party analytics to understand aggregate page views, anonymous sessions, article readership, sponsor-page interest, referring websites, and reader-account conversion for gated articles. The analytics record stores the page path, time, referring hostname, and a random identifier kept only for the active browser-tab session. Gated-article events may also include a non-personal event name and article identifier. It does not store an IP address, account ID, email address, full referring URL, or query string, and it honors browser Do Not Track settings. Aggregate daily totals may be shared with the T25PS portfolio dashboard.

We do not currently use advertising cookies or sell personal information.

How we use information

  • Provide and secure reader and administrator accounts.
  • Save articles and manage newsletter choices.
  • Register devices and deliver the mobile notifications you choose.
  • Respond to sponsor, advertising, appearance, and support inquiries.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the publication.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

Service providers and sharing

We use service providers to operate the site and app, including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database and authentication services, Apple for push-notification delivery, and Resend for email delivery when email features are enabled. They may process information only as needed to provide their services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the site or others, or as part of a business reorganization. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Email choices

You can change newsletter preferences from your reader account or use the unsubscribe instructions included in marketing emails. You may also email us to request removal. Transactional account and security messages may still be sent when needed to operate your account.

Retention and security

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, inquiry follow-up, security, recordkeeping, and legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Notification tokens are stored as sensitive server-side application data and are removed from an installation record when the app reports that notification permission was denied or registration was disabled. Notification preferences and limited delivery records may be retained as needed to honor your choices, prevent duplicate alerts, investigate failures, and maintain security.

Your choices

You may update account information and newsletter preferences from your account. To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, contact us through the sponsor and contact form. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when legally permitted or required.

You can change Fired Coaches notification categories in the app. You can also allow or deny notifications at any time in iOS Settings. Turning notifications off causes the app to disable its server registration when it next reconciles permission status. Signing out removes the reader-account link from that installation without changing your device-level notification choice.

Children’s privacy

The site and its account features are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

Third-party services

Links, embedded media, and social platforms may be governed by their own privacy policies. Review those policies before providing information to a third party.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date above will show the latest revision. Questions can be sent through the sponsor and contact form.
