Georgia Coaching Notes
THE VENT | 10/3 THE MORNING AFTER OVERREACTIONS
Week 7 delivered statement wins, questionable fashion choices, PSR implications, region chaos, and plenty to overreact about.

The Morning After Overreactions
As we do every Saturday, it is time to irresponsibly overreact to what happened on Friday night. Some of these takes will age beautifully. Others may be completely dead by Monday.
That is why they are called overreactions.
Gainesville:
Huge win over the new-look Roswell Raiders. The QB is a problem with his legs and seems to be getting better every week. The Region Title Game against Milton at the House That Niblett Built is going to be must-see TV.
Stephens County:
Best win of the night. Gritty, season-altering win if you play your cards right from here. Habersham and Gilmer also thank you from a PSR standpoint, so kudos all around.
Newton / Westlake:
Outstanding Football Game. Newton came out on top, but I could watch that match up every Friday and it never let me down.
Hart County:
It was the orange pants. You know it. I know it. Burn them.
Grayson:
Another huge win for Coach Carswell and Grayson. That being said, I would like it officially noted that getting into a fight with Miami Carol City is probably not the best business decision. They are from Miami. You are from Loganville, Georgia. These are not the same environments.
Elbert County:
Your entire region continues to confuse me, but that is an outstanding win over a Morgan County team coming off the Hebron victory.
Oglethorpe County:
Lexington, Georgia. Where legends are made.
Milton:
Your defense gave up 21 points. Sad!
Roswell:
Everything is still in front of you, and I trust the staff to address some of the issues that showed up early and often on both sides of the ball. I would encourage you not to address them with more Alpharetta players, but to each their own.
Parkview:
After more than a week of distractions, many of which have only been further stoked by the district’s new leadership, this was a huge win for Coach Clack and his team. Peachtree Ridge also sends its regards for PSR purposes.
Rome:
Is burning.
White County:
Chad Bennett is Coach of the Year. The Falcons will still ignore him. Sad!
West Hall:
The young kid who split reps at QB... Never mind. I apparently shouldn’t have an opinion on the matter because I am merely a satirical Twitter coach. I’ll submit my written request for permission to provide commentary next week.
Effingham County:
Big win for Coach Ford and the boys.
Lowndes:
Still playing preseason games. This week’s opponent was the 257th-ranked team in Florida. Congrats!
Lee County:
Really good response after last week with a win over a much-improved Coffee team. I still believe this is a five-team bid region when the dust settles.
Flowery Branch:
Really good game plan early, but they couldn’t finish drives in the red area. I still think they are probably the second-best team in that region. And yes, I know North Oconee is in the region.
OVERTIME
Thanks in part to the issues Dave Campbell’s Texas High School Football experienced throughout the day, OVERTIME: The Fired Coaches Scoreboard Show was the most-watched high school football scoreboard show in the country last night.
You can catch the replay on X, YouTube, or Spotify.
A huge thank you to all the coaches who called in throughout the night to give live game updates. That is what continues to make the show different.
We’ll run it back next Friday at 10:00 PM Eastern.
