Athens Academy / Rabun County

Our friends in Tiger, Georgia, had a good weekend, blanking Athens Academy and setting up a massive region showdown with Commerce next week. There’s a reason Kirby’s son transferred to North Oconee this offseason, and after Friday, I guess it became a little more obvious.

Stephens County

The world was your oyster after that huge win over Hart County. You are the most puzzling team in the United States of America.

Franklin County

Had your chances, but your QB needs to be more decisive. Also, your pulling guards are 3 yards deep and giving away the pull every single time. The region race is still tight, and you should be in every single game the rest of the way.

Jefferson

No one running a similar offense is going to beat you. It’s like trying to out-Marist Marist in a state title game. They’re better at it than you, and you’re better at this brand of football than East Forsyth.

Duluth

Love this for Coach Cam Jones and Duluth. I, for one, am SHOCKED Hebron isn’t as competitive as it was under Coach Gess. Unless… attracting outside talent isn’t as welcome as it once was? No way of knowing for sure I guess... Sad!

Brookwood

Big win and a great response after the Parkview game. Kept your foot on their throat and never let them crawl back into it.

White County

6–1 for Coach Chad Bennett. Somebody’s about to make the trip to Cleveland, Georgia, for a first-round playoff game.

Rome

Is burning.

Metter

“Everything is better in Metter” is on vacation this season.

Lowndes

Officially 1–0 on the season. Congrats on the huge win over Camden. As they say, the season doesn’t officially begin until your first road trip. Seven games in without a road game, we look forward to seeing those road whites finally come out of mothballs. Also, remind the players what to pack for the bus, and exactly what a bus is.

Thomasville

Massive win over Fitzgerald. Did anyone get an update on why Fitzgerald’s RB transferred to Coffee? Is he worth 3 points? I don't know.

Northside Warner Robins

Huge win over Tift. Five teams should get in from this region. Northside, Tift, and Veterans are neck and neck right now, and it will be interesting to see how this one finishes in the toughest region in the state.

Seckinger

Lost to Mill Creek, but I think that game would’ve been more interesting with the kids zoned for Seckinger playing for you instead of against you. I am confident Gwinnett County Schools will address this with the same level of urgency they display when a parent makes baseless claims of unfairness towards a teacher / coach. But don't hold your breath.

Gainesville

Johns Creek scored THREE points on your No. 1 defense? Sad! If this trend continues, you might as well forget about the playoffs.

Cherokee

The whispers around this entire county right now are worth monitoring over the next two months.

Grayson

Huge region win setting up some must-see TV next week against Newton. Get your popcorn ready.

Mitchell County

I’d never want to live that far south full-time, but it had to be a fun night beating Clinch when so many counted you out. Outstanding.

Randolph Clay

Shoutout after proud alum Coach Josh McFather declared your Friday night concession spread—with smoked BBQ—the best within a 40-mile radius. Also, congrats on the win over Seminole.

Berkmar

Five consecutive games without scoring a point. This week, spend all your time and effort on the two plays your kids run best. Then run them over and over again. Or don't.. but I mean it couldn't hurt right?

Milton

Whispers around south Georgia have indicated Milton and Brooks County would like to set up a future home and home. Milton going that far south in August would be a challenge but luckily the PSR would be the same as if they played Battle Ground again. So why not!
